Dr. Pyare Khanna
Dr. Khanna is the founder and CEO of DiscoveRx. He has over 25 years of experience in the biotechnology industry and played a key role in the commercialization of the Enzyme Fragment Complementation (EFC) Assay technology. He has over 40 issued patents and approximately 40 scientific publications. He is an inventor on the vast majority of patents related to the use and applications of EFC Assay technology. Prior to founding DiscoveRx, Dr. Khanna was President and CEO of Microgenics, which was founded as a result of a management buy-out from the Roche-Boehringer Mannheim merger. Dr. Khanna has also served as Vice President and Head of the U.S. Laboratory Diagnostics Division for Boehringer Mannheim Corp. He was a cofounder of ChemTrak and Assistant Director of Research for the Syva Company. Dr. Khanna has a Ph.D. in bio-organic chemistry.

Sailaja Kuchibhatla
Ms. Sailaja Kuchibhatla is Senior Vice President of Business Development responsible for activities that include creating and managing new business opportunities and initiatives for the drug discovery research market, and licensing in to DiscoveRx and licensing out DiscoveRx technologies. Ms. Kuchibhatla began her career at Clontech in 1989 in the research and development organization. After six years of varied and increasing responsibility within R&D, she moved into Marketing, followed by her most recent appointment as VP of Business Development. As a key member of the marketing and business development group for the last 10 years, Ms. Kuchibhatla handled various responsibilities, including leading the marketing team and licensing of key technologies for Clontech in the last five years. She was a member of the Senior Leadership team at BD Biosciences/Clontech and a member of the Technology Strategy and Business Development team at BD Biosciences. She holds MS and BS degrees in Plant Sciences.

Paul Gallant
Paul Gallant, General Manager of the KINOMEscan division of DiscoveRx, brings with him more than 20 years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology experience to his present management role. He previously served as Senior Director, Screening & Commercial Operations at Ambit Biosciences where he was responsible for the High-Throughput Kinase Screening Group, supporting Ambit’s internal drug discovery programs, and the KINOMEscan Commercial Services division. Prior to Ambit Biosciences, he served as Senior Research Scientist & Project Leader for Amgen Inc., where he created and managed the Kinase Array Project which provided HTS services and ongoing screening support for multiple kinase programs for several therapeutic areas. Previously, Paul served as Head of Biochemical Screening at Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he was responsible for implementing and maintaining their high throughput screening activities while serving as Project leader for multiple Oncology Kinase Programs. Prior to joining Millennium, he spent four years at Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc., as the Head of High-Throughput Screening & Lead Discovery where he implemented multiple technology platforms, including whole cell pathogen screening and fluorescent polarization binding assays, for Cubist’s proprietary V/TA program. Previously, he spent seven years in academia in various positions of increasing responsibility at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and the Research Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in Crete Greece. Paul received his B.A. in Biology at Colby College and completed advanced course work at Harvard.

Dr. Daniel Treiber
Daniel K. Treiber is Senior Director Research & Development and a principal inventor and developer of KINOMEscan technology with more than ten years of experience in the areas of biochemical assay development and small molecule kinase inhibitor drug discovery and pre-clinical development. Dr. Treiber comes to DiscoveRx from Ambit Biosciences, where, in addition to his contributions to KINOMEscan, he held leadership positions on multiple oncology-focused drug discovery teams and contributed to the strategic design of quizartinib (AC220), a FLT3 inhibitor currently in phase II clinical trials for acute leukemia. While with Ambit, Dr. Treiber successfully applied KINOMEscan technology to several lead discovery and optimization programs. Prior to joining Ambit in 2000, Dr. Treiber was a Sr. Research Associate at the Scripps Research Institute, where he developed a two-hybrid system to detect interactions between small molecules and RNA. Dr. Treiber received his Ph.D. in toxicology from MIT where he studied cisplatin’s mechanism of action. His postdoctoral work in the MIT chemistry department applied in vitro selection methodologies to the study of catalytic RNA folding. Dr. Treiber received a B.A. in biology from Middlebury College.
